How to access our programs
If you're experiencing mild mental health challenges, aged 16 or over, and live in Australia, you can access Medicare Mental Health Check In for free.
Before you join a program, you'll need to get in touch with us either online or on the phone. This helps us understand what you've been experiencing, the support you need, and whether the service is right for you.
Get started online
Complete our online form at a time that suits you. We'll ask about how you've been feeling lately and the support you may need.
After you submit the form, a trained professional will review your answers and call you to help connect you with the right support.
Get started with a phone call
Prefer to talk on the phone? Request a callback and someone from our team will be in touch.
If you want to hear about other services in your area, you can call Medicare Mental Health directly on 1800 595 212 (available 8:30am–5:00pm weekdays, excluding public holidays).
Need help during the phone call?
If you have hearing or speech loss, there are a few support options available to you:
- TTY (TeleTYpe): 1800 555 677

About the programs
Each of our 6 digital programs is structured to take around 6 weeks to complete.
You’ll have the choice to work through it:
- with support from a qualified Medicare Mental Health Check In practitioner (practitioner-guided), or
- independently (self-guided), with the option to switch pathways if you need more support.
This support is provided by telehealth – over video or the phone.

Why we need some information before you can start a program
